Academic research on philanthropy is most often conceived based on scholarly interests, which may have little correlation to the practical realities of those working on the ground in global growth markets. The new Centre for Strategic Philanthropy (CSP) report seeks to elevate the voices of philanthropic practitioners in Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia by using their insights to determine an academically rigorous research agenda that is rooted in improving philanthropic practice in these core markets. In collaboration with AVPN, EVPA, Impact Investors Foundation IIF, the Arab Foundations Forum (AFF), and the Centre on African Philanthropy and Social Investment, this report brings together reflections from 40+ philanthropic organizations to develop the CSP’s research agenda. AFF’s CEO, Naila Farouky, was one of the panelists.
