Ramadan Calendar 2026

Ramadan is a time of giving, and many of our members rely on donations to keep their good work going. Each year we highlight the wonderful philanthropic projects, initiatives, and events our members are working on throughout the Arab region and beyond, and, wherever possible, show you ways you can help support them.

Check back here every day of the holy month to see who we will feature next and to donate to their incredible causes.

Feb 19, 2026 | Day 1

HAND IN HAND FOR AID AND DEVELOPMENT

This Ramadan, help HIHFAD support Syrian and Gazan families in urgent need.

In Syria, millions remain displaced, struggling without adequate food, shelter, or medical care. Families endure harsh conditions, desperately needing assistance to survive and rebuild.

In Gaza, years of blockade and recurring conflicts have devastated the local economy and infrastructure, leaving families without sufficient food, clean water, or safe housing. Emergency aid and sustainable support are critical.

HIHFAD is committed to alleviating suffering, protecting the most vulnerable, and promoting social justice through community-based humanitarian and development interventions. Your support can make a difference.

INTERNATIONAL RESCUE COMMITTEE (IRC)

Last year, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) launched their first Zakat campaign, made possible after receiving a fatwa and scholarly endorsement confirming the IRC as an eligible recipient of Zakat. The generosity of so many allowed them to address urgent humanitarian needs in communities that need it the most, with their Zakat Fund page and FAQs available on their website.

Ramadan invites all of us to extend compassion to those facing hardship. Families living through conflict, displacement and economic strain are confronting even greater challenges this year as global aid shortfalls deepen. Zakat funds this month will ensure families in countries like Sudan receive nourishing food, clean water, safe shelter and medical care, and also directly reach communities in Yemen, Occupied Palestinian Territory (oPt), Syria, Afghanistan, Nigeria and Somalia where support is urgently needed. You may also watch the stories of those the IRC is striving to support.

The IRC's 2026 Emergency Watchlist is their annual assessment of the 20 countries at greatest risk, detailing the stark reality of these crises and providing a path forward. The historic levels of crisis in Sudan, a country that tops the Watchlist for the third year, demonstrates the degree of humanitarian need they are facing.

Feb 21, 2026 | Day 3

SIGHTSAVERS

This Ramadan, support Sightsavers and help protect sight, eliminate neglected tropical diseases and promote disability inclusion across 30 countries.

Sightsavers is an international organisation that has been working for over 60 years to make sure people who need eye care and disability support can actually access it. They work in some of the world's most underserved communities, including in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Senegal and Mali, delivering life-changing programmes with full transparency on how donations are spent.

Your Zakat and Sadaqah this Ramadan will fund sight-restoring surgeries, eye examinations and glasses for people who have gone without. It will support treatment that protects entire communities from neglected tropical diseases. It will help ensure children with disabilities have access to inclusive education and the opportunities they deserve.

Feb 22, 2026 | Day 4

AMANI SOUTH SUDAN

According to the International Rescue Committee, Sudan has topped the Emergency Watchlist as the world's worst humanitarian crisis for three years running. UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency calls it the largest displacement crisis on the planet, with over 12 million people forced to flee their homes. The World Food Programme describes it as the largest humanitarian crisis in the world by any measure, with 25 million people facing severe hunger.

At the border of South Sudan, families arrive with nothing but trauma. Amani South Sudan is a women and youth-led organisation that meets them there first, providing food, shelter and critical medical care to people who have lost everything. Founded on the belief that sustainable peace requires women and youth to lead, Amani operates across seven states in South Sudan with full accountability to the communities they serve.

Your support this Ramadan will fund nourishing meals, safe shelter and critical medical attention for families who have survived unimaginable hardship. This is urgent, frontline work carried out by people deeply rooted in their communities and trusted by those they serve.

Feb 23, 2026 | Day 5

YOUSSEF TABSH FOUNDATION

Supported by the Youssef Tabsh Foundation, the Social Impact Community (SIC) is a regional platform built by RPS MENA to strengthen collaboration across the MENA social impact ecosystem.

Open and free to all, SIC provides a regional directory of NGOs, foundations, social enterprises, and professionals, along with curated funding opportunities, webinars on donor trends, and networking for consortium-building.

Since launching earlier this year, over 150 organizations have already joined. The platform is open to NGOs, social enterprises, foundations, INGOs, donors, and development actors across MENA.

Feb 25, 2026 | Day 6

PHILANTROPICS

This Ramadan, Philantropics is hosting a special online webinar for the growing Brazilian expatriate community in the UAE, offering a space to reflect on what it truly means to give back during this month.

The webinar, taking place on 11 March 2026, will explore the spiritual meaning of Ramadan and how generosity can become both a personal practice and a collective responsibility, especially for those navigating lives of opportunity and abundance.

The session will be held in Portuguese, with English captions provided. All are welcome to join.

Philantropics is a Dubai-based advisory working to strengthen the culture of generosity and build bridges between the GCC and the Global South. They partner with philanthropists, family offices, foundations, and companies to design giving strategies that turn resources into meaningful, lasting impact.

Feb 26, 2026 | Day 7

SOS Children's Village International- Gulf Area

This Ramadan, our member SOS Children's Villages International is raising funds to support vulnerable children across Somalia, Ethiopia, Jordan, Pakistan, and Nigeria.

As one of the world's largest non-governmental social development organizations, SOS Children's Villages works across more than 130 countries and territories to provide holistic support including care, education, and healthcare to children who have lost or are at risk of losing parental care. Their vision is simple but powerful: every child should belong to a family and grow with love, respect, and security.

This Ramadan, SOS Children's Villages has launched five campaigns on YallaGive, each focused on reaching vulnerable children in one of these countries. Your support helps provide the care, stability, and opportunity that every child deserves.

Feb 27, 2026 | Day 8

Jusoor

This Ramadan, Jusoor is launching a crowdfunding campaign to keep orphaned students in Syria in school, starting in Aleppo.

Too many young people in Syria face an impossible choice: stay in school or drop out to support their families. No child should have to make that decision.
Building on years of success with their high school scholarship program for Syrian students in Lebanon, Jusoor is now bringing that same model home. They're providing orphaned students inside Syria with the comprehensive support they need to complete their high school education.

Education isn't just about one student. It's a pathway to long-term social mobility and the rebuilding of an entire country. This Ramadan, your generosity can keep a student in the classroom.

Feb 28, 2026 | Day 9

Sawiris Foundation for Social Development

The Sawiris Foundation for Social Development is investing in the next generation of artists and cultural leaders through its Sawiris Arts and Culture Scholarship (SACS).
