OVERVIEW

The American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) promotes a world free of violence, inequality, and oppression. Guided by the Quaker belief in the divine light within each person, we nurture the seeds of change and respect for human life to fundamentally transform our societies and institutions. We work with people and partners worldwide, of all faiths and backgrounds, to meet urgent community needs, challenge injustice, and build peace.

MISSION

Guided by the Quaker belief in the divine light of each person, AFSC works with communities and partners worldwide to challenge unjust systems and promote lasting peace.

VISION

A just, peaceful, and sustainable world free of violence, inequality, and oppression.

PROGRAMS

AFSC has operated continuously in the Middle East since 1947. Currently our focus areas are: 1) humanitarian needs, especially in Palestine; 2) support for Palestinian youth throughout the region; 3) climate justice.
