The British Council is the United Kingdom’s international organization for cultural relations and educational opportunities: the business of building trust and understanding between nations. The British Council’s office in Jordan is one of over 100 worldwide. It was established 65 years ago as the second overseas office and remains one of our most important operations today. They target specific groups of people through programs in education, English language teaching, libraries and information, the arts, science and technology, and governance and human rights.
To support young people to achieve the education, qualifications and skills needed to maximize their potential in their future careers and to create and develop new networks and platforms to give young people a voice in society.
In Jordan they aim to be a close partner in Jordan's own development and reform program emphasized in the Socio-Economic Transformation Plan, the Education Reform for the Knowledge Economy plan, the Jordan First campaign and the UNDP Human Development Report.
